The Gotham Rags Story

Gotham Rags was founded by Stephen Bodkin—an award-winning designer with decades of experience in advertising, product design, and art. If you’ve walked past retail shelves, watched television, or interacted with corporate brands, chances are you’ve seen his work. Logos, campaigns, and designs across industries have shaped his creative career.

When Stephen discovered pickleball years ago, he fell in love with the game—but not the apparel. The designs felt repetitive, uninspired, and overly obsessed with pickles for a sport named after a dog. Pickleball deserved better style, smarter humor, and bolder ideas.

That’s why Gotham Rags exists.

We create fresh, design-driven pickleball apparel that people actually want to wear—on the court and off. Drawing from designing for national brands, with a background in photo shoots, TV commercials, branding, and web design, Stephen treats every tee, hoodie, and sweatshirt as wearable art. Pickleball apparel is the perfect canvas for self-expression, especially for a sport that’s as social and joyful as the game itself.

We try to push our apparel designs in fresh directions. So you won't see many of our designs anywhere else.

Sustainability matters to us, too. Every piece is made to order, which means no mass production, no excess inventory, and less waste. We print in the USA using domestically produced fabric, because great style shouldn’t come at the expense of the planet.

Our customers are confident, stylish, and comfortably ahead of the curve. They know that tees, tanks, sweats, and hoodies are more than workout gear—they’re everyday essentials. Gotham Rags isn’t just about pickleball apparel; it’s about fashion, fun, and bringing more personality to the fastest-growing sport around.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out GothamRags.com. We’re always open to ideas, feedback, and suggestions—after all, the best designs often start with a great conversation.

See you on the court.
